Jon escribió:Radiator Hoses: From start of production until approx. Nov. ‘42 GPWs were produced with one-piece rubber radiator hoses.
The upper hose is a spiral-wrapped type with a 1/2” red stripe.
The lower is a molded elbow shaped hose marked in red or white paint. The “F” is the Firestone style.
After Nov. ‘42 both upper and lower hoses included a steel tube and used 4 short lengths of red-stripe hose and a total of 8 hose clamps.
The steel tubes were painted gloss black or more commonly olive drab.
An alternate late-type hose did not have the red stripe, but did include the Ford part number and Ford script in silver paint.*

JAB escribió:Well, I did some research & just gets more confusing. According to the parts section Ron sells different versions of these hoses based on the year & brand of the jeep in question. The SNL that I looked at (ORD 9 SNL G-503 online) states that the radiator outlet (the lower hoses with the steel elbow) gets one FM-IGT-8260 or WO-630512 on the upper end (the water pump inlet end) & it's 2 1/2" long. The other end of the elbow (they call it "lower", to the radiator outlet) gets a 4 1/2" long hose FM-GPW 8284 or WO-A-592. No specs are given for the radiator inlet hoses (FM-GPW 8285 or WO-A-6373) in that source but it does state that they are the same size. According to this http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=58258 that hose is 3". So for a jeep covered by this manual you'd need a 2 1/2" hose, a 4 1/2" hose & two 3" hoses. The two 3" hoses go on the top pipe.
Edited to correct an error in part numbers.
